WCOP Objectives & Strategy:

The WCOP aims to work along the following approach to achieve our mission:

  1. Providing opportunities for an effective social and cultural integration of overseas Pakistanis with other communities in the country of their settlement
  2. Educating Overseas Pakistanis and their countries of settlement on Pakistan, global media and press on Pakistani culture, art and tourism to uplift the true image of Pakistan
  3. Promoting greater participation of Overseas Pakistanis in the countries of settlement in politics, public service, education, volunteering and other relevant sectors
  4. Imparting professional skills and knowledge to Overseas Pakistani Diaspora and empowering them to contribute effectively to the country of their settlement through participation in the local politics and public service
  5. Contributing towards confident and self-assured youth, empowered and leading womenfolk, and educated and highly-skilled entrepreneurs and professionals
  6. Creating financial and business opportunities for diaspora within and outside the professional circuit in the UK and all over the world
  7. Supporting the Overseas Pakistanis in the representation of their legal and constitutional rights in Pakistan through close collaboration with the relevant Pakistani statutory bodies (High Commissions & Embassies, OPF, Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission etc)
  8. Creating networks of excellence by supporting like-minded organisations, fostering synergetic relationships through capacity building and forging alliances
  9. Highlighting the Diaspora achievements and successes of pioneers in the various fields to promote the role models
  10. Encouraging Overseas Pakistanis to enrol into the leading universities of the world and forging partnerships with institutions of higher learning and development
  11. Working in close collaboration with the statutory bodies in the countries of settlement and in Pakistan to achieve optimum support for the Overseas Pakistanis


As a result of the above approach, we also hope to increase the flow of social, cultural, educational and business exchange between other communities and overseas Pakistanis in the country of their settlement.

ABOUT WCOP

World Congress of Overseas Pakistanis (WCOP) is a non-political organisation, representing just over 10 million overseas Pakistanis constituting the 5th largest diaspora in 151 countries. WCOP was co-founded in 2012 by Arif Anis & Syed Qamar Raza after lengthy consultations and deliberations with Pakistani Diaspora leaders in the UK, USA, Pakistan and abroad. WCOP projects have attracted support from the most effective circles from the UK, Pakistan and worldwide, including the parliamentarians, writers, academics, media persons and think tank experts. Speakers at the WCOP conferences include British Prime Minister Theresa May, former Prime Minister David Cameron, former British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, Rt. Hon. Baroness Sayeeda Warsi, Rt. Hon Simon Hughes, Chancellor of Exchequer Rt. Hon. Sajid Javed and the Archbishop of Canterbury Rt. Hon Rowan Williams. Chief Justice of Pakistan and the Chief of the Army Staff have also spoken at the WCOP events.
